The turn of a millennium, and the world has plunged into an increasingly technological race - a race which clamours for both individualisation and synchronisation. The basest of our emotions, however, remain rooted in unearthing truths, lies and the murky areas designated inhabitable.
Walking these roads, we cannot help but want to listen for other voices and other words, to find a connection in this seemingly disconnected world.
Between is coffee-table anthology loosely
themed Space & Geography, to be published early 2008. To make it a little more special, pieces will be accompanied by illustrations or photography to help illuminate the writing.

What is CAP?
The Creative Arts Programme (CAP) is an annual residential seminar organised by the Ministry of Education (MOE) for aspiring young writers from secondary schools and junior colleges, and is held at the National University of Singapore (NUS) during the June holidays.
For a week, CAPpers get pointers on their craft from established local and overseas writers, and go through an intensive battery of workshops where they try their hand at a myriad of other creative arts, ranging from Chinese opera to Batik painting to jazz.
Most importantly, it is at CAP that these students meet more of their own kind, building unique friendships, exchanging crazy ideas, and spark ing off a frenzy of unsurpassed inspiration.
And the CAP Alumni?
The Alumni refers to the officially unofficial community of CAPpers who organise activities that further encourage CAPpers past and present to engage actively in Singapore's burgeoning arts and literary scene. We are also attempting to engage the wider literary community and are building connections with non-CAP literary groups.
To date, the Alumni has published two books, staged a double bill at Jubilee Hall, held a number of readings and organised miscellaneous literary events.
Do entrants have to be Singaporean?
-No, but we'd prefer it if you lived here. Singaporeans overseas also welcome. Even the Singaporean-at-heart.
How free am I to interpret the themes?
- Very, very free. It's about being creative, remember?
What if I can't illustrate? Can a friend do it for me?
- You're welcome to, so long as you credit the artist.
Can I send in work without an accompanying image?
- Of course. If your writing is accepted our Art Person will create one. If you've a rough idea of what you'd want, just describe it.
What if you get it wrong! I don't want my poem misinterpreted with graphics that don't fit.
- Once we're certain of which entries we will be publishing, we will of course liase with authors and artists to make sure we get it right.
Can I use stock images, like from Gettyimages?
- No. The book will be published and sold, so stock images would require royalties and licenses. Please don't.
Speaking of royalties, what's going to happen to profits from the sale of the book?
-So far, we're not very certain. But rest assured we won't steal it and run off. It'll depend on the writers we select, as well as the
publisher.

High-In-Charge-Person: Adeline Chin
Del is short, smiley, a technological dinosaur and very, very thin. Lately she's been studying in Australia. She works at the Shangri-La organising other people's meals and things. She is a disgustingly organised individual.

Ying is a complete Japanophile, who also speaks German. In the spirit of leaving no race out, she plays something like the pipa. She is reading law at NUS, has relief-taught, and draws very cute cows.

Kinda Chief Editor: Pamela Ng
Pam is easily amused, and is highly amusing herself. She likes fish and is frequently ten minutes behind everyone else in the conversation. She draws fantastically, is nice and stylish, and will eventually work for the MOE- but we love her just the same.

Artistic Director: Eleanor Lim
Ele is the youngest member of the Doom Squad at age sixteen. She is giggly, part British, and likes photography and coffee. She is responsible for both the promo film and this webpage and apologises for how image-heavy they are.
